Learning Music Made Fun!
The goal of the Allen Piano Studio is to instil the love and appreciation of music and piano playing in students which they will carry throughout their lives.
Stephanie's goal is to make music and lessons fun and joyful. Learning music helps students create realistic goals and build confidence. In this way, music education helps students plan for success in the future. Studying music also helps students improve their focus, concentration, memory and develop their creativity.
Stephanie began her piano studies at the age of five in Ontario, growing up in a home where music was always important. Stephanie received her Bachelor of Music from the University of Western Ontario where she studied with Sonja Behrens. Stephanie graduated with Honours specializing in Music Education. Upon graduation Stephanie opened her own piano studio and quickly became a recognized piano & theory teacher.
In 1993 Stephanie moved to the lovely province of Nova Scotia to continue her teaching career at the Canadian Conservatory of Music. Stephanie served as Senior Advisor to the Piano Faculty helping many teachers complete their final exams. Stephanie also served as Coordinator to the Musical Friends & Keyboard Connection programs overseeing teachers and curriculum development of these early childhood musical experiences. Stephanie continues to mentor teachers in her role as MYC Regional Coordinator - Atlantic Canada.
In 2001, Stephanie once again established a successful private studio. Many of Stephanie's students have won numerous awards and have gone on to complete music degrees. Stephanie's goal as a teacher is always to teach the joy of making music as the gift of music will last a life time.
Stephanie resides in Sackville, Nova Scotia with her husband Andrew and their two adult children.
